Sukses pada interview

person for sale!
just how well prepared are you for an encounter with a potential employer? don`t rest on your laurels too early

Rush job
You`ve been called to an interview for that dream job. Time to celebrate? Wrong. Time to stop and think. Doing a successful interview is a real skill that takes preparation and practice. You may not get it right the first time, but there are some basics you should be able to master pretty quickly.

An interview is your chance to sell yourself to the company. In order to do this, you must allow those interviewing to find out more about you, and to assess your suitability for the position as against the other candidates.

It`s also your opportunity to learn more about the job on offer and the particular company, allowing you to decide whether or not it`s for you. So although those interviewing do set the agenda to a large extent, the interview is a two-way process. Don`t become passive!

Role playing
The company`s role as a potential employer is to investigate and examine the services and products they`re being asked to buy as effectively and as expediently as possible. Therefore they have questions and problems for you to solve.

Your role as a potential employee is to act as the salesperson. You have services and products to sell to a potential buyer or client, who has specific needs. And you`re operating in a competitive environment.

Start by selling yourself and work on the assumption that you are one particular book that will be judged by the cover. You must make contact with your client early on. You want them to like you before you even start talking about your skills or achievements.

Work on the following:

smile and make eye contact with everyone present
shake hands firmly
don`t overdo the `pleased to meet you` clichAcs
listen attentively
don`t overdo the talking at the start
don`t interrupt
use the interviewer`s name
don`t fidget
answer to all present including the person who asked the question
show respect to those interviewing you, their company, and their business
answer confidently, clearly and succinctly
dress well and generally look the part

Success, after all, is in your hands.
